Documentary Archive

Unmanipulated medium-format film narratives.

A stark digital record of urban transition and overlooked communities. Every frame remains unaltered, waiting for natural light to expose the quiet truth of shifting spaces.

The Method

Three weeks, one street.

Documentary work requires absolute patience. I spend weeks in a single neighborhood, letting the dust settle and the doors open naturally. There are no orchestrated scenes or digital filters here.

By utilizing medium-format film, each frame becomes a deliberate, slow act of preservation. The goal is archival proof of communities in transition before they are erased by development.

The Photographer

Ammar Yassir

Based in urban centers of transition, my practice focuses on the quiet friction between heritage and rapid development. I work exclusively with analog systems to maintain physical custody of the negative.

I do not correct these frames to satisfy commercial tastes. They are printed solely to document what was true.
